Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes for 4/21/26

1. Meeting called to order by Brad at 7:04PM following the annual meeting. 
2. Approval of minutes of previous meeting.
The previous meeting minutes were sent out prior to the meeting and reviewed by the board:

3. Presentation of treasurer’s report & clerk’s balance statement.

4. Public Comment.
Public comment is limited to the public comment period of the meeting. Public comments can be made on agenda items which may be considered by the board during its deliberation of the agenda item. Please note that the board may not act on a public comment regarding a non-agenda item.
No public comments made. 
5. Open and award gravel bid.
Haas - $18.23 yard - gravel.  Slobodnik - $17.73 yard - gravel. Haas - $16.86 yard - blue granite. Slobonik - $19.75 yard - blue granite  
The board and the highway crew discussed the options of blue granite and normal gravel. Blue granite does not seem to bind like normal gravel. The highway crew would rather use normal gravel going forward.

6. Open and award paving/LRIP bid.
Bid totals were - Monarch $139,625.87. This was the only one presented.

7. Approve brush cutting contract.

8. Approval of license/permits. None presented. 
9. Review permit fees.
Brad summarized the reason for the discussion. Some people want only one trip and others want many trips under the permit. The idea was floated to lower the cost for one trip and keep the rate the same for the multiple trips.

10. Road work discussion & update.
The new grader has been delivered. The new shed area is staked out. Excavation for the shed should be underway soon. Bridge work is postponed to TBD. Estimates from the county for crack filling are on the way. A culvert on 322nd needs to be replaced this year.  The crew will plan to add gravel to the dip on the corner of 140th and 360th streets during the same time the road work is done in that area.
