TOWN OF COLBURN Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes for: 12/2/25 Board members present ● Brad Hompe ● Shawn Kuehni ● Nick Burzynski ● Dana Hartzell ● Kiel Morello 1. Meeting called to order at 7:00PM by Brad Hompe 2. The previous meeting minutes were sent out prior to the meeting and reviewed by the board.
a. Motion to approve minutes as presented: Nick b. Second by: Shawn c. Motion Carried 3. Dana read the treasurer’s report & clerk’s balance statement a. Dana and Kiel verified clerk and treasurer balance 4. Public Comment Public comment is limited to the public comment period of the meeting. Public comments can be made on agenda items which may be considered by the board during its deliberation of the agenda item. Please note that the board may not act on a public comment regarding a non-agenda item. a. Dan Liske stated that half a mile of the ice age trail is ready for use. This is near Otter Lake. There is an open house being planned for June 2026. Otter Lake has ice on it. 5. Approval of licenses/permits a. Kiel asked about licenses being needed to sell beer or liquor over the counter at the Otter Lake Bait Shop. A license is not needed for an employee of the bait shop to sell over the counter. Kiel will let the owners of Otter Lake Bait shop know this. b. None presented. 6. Approve Poll Workers and Inspectors: Brad presented the board a list of poll workers and inspectors. a. Motion to approve the list: Shawn b. Second by: Nick c. Motion Carried 7. Approve Garbage and Recycling Contract: Brad summarized the history of Waste Management and GFL contracts. The price of the current contract with GFL continues to go up. Currently the cost is $586.20 per month. Brad talked to GFL about this cost being lowered and negotiated a new contract with a cost of $420 per month. a. Motion to approve the new contract: Nick b. Second by: Shawn c. Motion Carried 8. Approve Driveway Permit Ordinance: Brad stated the Towns Association recommended the town adopt this ordinance. It enables the board to enforce the rules and other regulations discussed in the past on this topic. a. Motion to approve the Driveway Permit Ordinance: Nick b. Second by: Shawn c. Motion Carried 9. Road work discussion & update: Brad said that the town was offered $82,500 for the old grader. The buyer wants it now. The board and the road crew discussed the pros and cons of selling it now. The gas tank is fixed on the truck. Work is being done on the V-plow now. Brad asked the road crew about washing the trucks after use to help maintain them. It should be done after use and before they might sit for a while. A short discussion was had about the possibility of a new shop or just a simple cold storage building. a. Motion to approve the immediate sale of the grader for $82,500 or higher: Nick b. Second by: Shawn c. Motion Carried 10. Reviewed and approved expenditures 11.
