Brad shared for the record that Chippewa County, without discussing with the Town of Colburn, decided to not pay, their share $2,500 regardless of electrical use for aerators. Brad discussed with them that they will now pay half the rate. The county parks indicated they do not have interest in paying for it. Public comment was opened up. The ice age trail alliance was the next discussion for the board. The Alliance released a public notice to the township that they were in the process of purchasing 80 acres of land in the township. The town has no control of the purchase, but had to state either support, against, or no stance on the purchase via the Knowles-Nelson funding. The township took no stance on the purchase. The board moved on to roadwork. The town hall Pedestal/Stump Removal project was delayed to July 11th due to marking of utilities. Grading of Otter Lake Rd ( 165th), would be taking place on Wednesday the 3rd. Brad shared that paving would possibly take place Friday the 5th or Monday the 8th. Brad shared that Beavers were back on Sheep Ranch road again and that the highway crew would watch to see if they become a problem again. The board discussed the high shoulders on Phelps Road and the possibility of having Dale D work to cut them back with the grader or rent a tool to do so. Brad shared that a resident on 300th contacted the town regarding the added gravel being too high for his driveway now. No action was taken. Town mowing was done for now, and a second round was a possibility in the future. Brad did want to share for the record that our town recycling attendant, Chuck, had attempted to hand off the trash payments to Brad at the bar rather than leaving them at the town hall. Chuck set the money down, and it was gone when Brad returned. Brad was discussing this more with Chuck. Next meeting date was set for August 5th rather than the 6th at 7pm.
