Town Meeting June 3 rd , 2025 Board Members Present: Brad Hompe, Kiel Morello, Jeff Milas, Dana Hartzell Previous Minutes 7:00 Call to Order: Brad Hompe Previous meeting minutes read: Jeff Milas o Motion to accept previous minutes as read by Kiel Morello; seconded by Brad Hompe, motion carried Treasurer’s report read by Dana Hartzell License and permit applications o Pike Lake, Shady Nook, Curve Inn, Otter Lake Bait Shop, Huron Tavern Kiel Morello motioned to approve the license and permits; seconded by Brad Hompe; motion carried o Application for picnic license from Stanley Sportsmen’s Club and Otter Lake Booster Club Kiel Morello motioned to approve licenses; seconded by Brad Hompe; motion carried Approve appointments o Kiel Morello nominated Nick Burzynski as the second supervisor; seconded by Brad Hompe; motion carried o Nick Burzynski joined the board at the table for the remainer of this meeting Brad Hompe mentioned current Clerk resignation and current Clerk opening Office rental contract was discussed by Bridge Building Company o Kiel motioned to approve rental contract; seconded by Nick Burzynski; motion carried Roadwork o Updates on ditching on 360 th Avenue o Graveling 100 loads can be put down now, finishing of Holub’s Road was discussed. The use of brown gravel and blue granite was discussed. Brown gravel price: $292 per load, blue granite price: $263 per load. The use of blue granite was motioned by Kiel Morello; seconded by Nick Burzynski; motion carried o 170 th Avenue scope and estimate on the bridge was discussed. This did not include the dam. o Signs: Need a few more replaced, some work already is complete. Theft is reported. Brad mentioned to do a reflection study on signs in the fall. Electric work outside town hall: Brad mentioned boring work is done, rest of the work completed by July Equipment and Facility Needs o Brad mentioned a new shop that is 80X52 in size is more than $300,000 to complete. Pros and cons were discussed. o A salt and sand bunker cost of $60,000 was discussed. Pros and cons discussed. o Old truck frame is not repairable and has been repaired in the past. New truck cost is approximately $260,000 up from $167,000 when the last truck was purchased. Discussion was had about buying new or used truck. Brad will firm quotes on new truck and start discussion about financing. Sale of Town Property: Dump site and surrounding land owned by the town. Discussion included selling the entire site, keeping 6 acres, listing it, or not selling it at all. Discussion was had about moving recycling center to the same location as the town hall. No decision was made on this topic. Public Comment o Mike Olin brought up tree work that is needed by the fishing dock on the east side of Otter Lake. The board was in agreement of the tree work being done. Review and Approval of Expenditures Complete Kiel Morello motioned to adjourn the meeting; meeting adjourned. Comments are closed.
