TOWN OF COLBURN 
Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes for 6/9/26

Board members present

1. Meeting called to order by Brad at 7:00PM. 
2. Approval of minutes of previous meeting.
The previous meeting minutes were sent out prior to the meeting and reviewed by the board:

3. Presentation of treasurer’s report & clerk’s balance statement.
Dana read the treasurer’s report & clerk’s balance statement 

1. Kiel and Dana verified the clerk and treasurer balance. 
   

4. Public Comment.
Public comment is limited to the public comment period of the meeting. Public comments can be made on agenda items which may be considered by the board during its deliberation of the agenda item. Please note that the board may not act on a public comment regarding a non-agenda item.
No comments made. 
5. Approval of license/permits.
6. Annual liquor and operator license renewal approvals. 
Kiel summarized the application complications with Staci from Hidden Shady Nook. She did not fully fill out the applications. She was told this by Kiel over the phone. Staci called Kiel the morning of the meeting stating she was not renewing her licences. The applications from Hidden Shady Nook were not complete so they were not presented. 
We have applications from: 

• Barefoot Bait and Holdings LLC (Otter Lake Bait and Camp Store) for tobacco license and Class A Beer and Class A liquor licenses. (paid with a check) 
  
• Bobbi’s Curve Inn for Class B Beer and Class B Liquor (paid with cash)
  
• Pike Lake Resort for Class B Beer and Class B liquor
  
• Scheidler’s Huron Tavern and Campground LLC for Class B Beer and Class B liquor

7. Road work discussion & update.
The V-plow sand blasting discussion was had. We won’t hire anyone to do it.
360th project - scheduling diggers hotline for work to be done on the 23rd. Paving will not be done untill after August 1st.
Culverts on 322nd and 326th road work discussion was had.
Brushing is done. 
Mowing will be done by the end of the month or sooner.
The road crew is getting a list of roads that need gravel. A discussion was had about the blue granite placement. 
The shed pad is done. Waiting on the construction crew to get caught up on other jobs and they will start. 
Road patching needs were discussed. Will get done in June
The ditch on the north side of 130th east of G might have a drainage issue. The board talked about the farmers on the road that run equipment and affect the road quality. 
Brad gave an update on the technology grant that was applied for. We might get it. We have not gotten all the details yet. 
Three dogs were taken to Zimmerman’s and were adopted. Chuck W. took the fourth dog.  
Brad mentioned land on Otter Lake had an old dock on it. The dock was replaced by a town resident. We need to remove it so problems don’t persist with lake residents.
8. Approve bridge/culvert petition for replacement of 330th culverts.

9. Review and approve expenditures.
10. Schedule the next meeting for July 7th 2026. 
Open book is scheduled for 6/30/26 and Board of review meeting is 7/7/26 from 6-8PM.
