TOWN OF COLBURN Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes for 7/7/26 Board members present
2. Approval of minutes of previous meeting. The previous meeting minutes were sent out prior to the meeting and reviewed by the board:
Dana read the treasurer’s report & clerk’s balance statement Kiel and Dana verified the clerk and treasurer balance.
Public comment is limited to the public comment period of the meeting. Public comments can be made on agenda items which may be considered by the board during its deliberation of the agenda item. Please note that the board may not act on a public comment regarding a non-agenda item. Dan Liske stated the 19th of July is the annual chicken dinner fundraiser at the park for the Otter Lake Booster Club. Raffle tickets are being sold from the Otter Lake Booster Club. Tammy Nelson - Stated the concerns about docks added to otter lake on the town land. She gave details about her concerns etc. The docks are removed as of now. How do we avoid these issues in the future? Another citizen stated related concerns. Another citizen voiced concerns about recorded access rights. She shared a copy of a survey map for clarification. She shared details about the maps and the land in question. She would like some answers from the board regarding her concerns. Another citizen voiced her concerns about the docks and land in question. She stated some other people have dumped brush and yard waste in the past. Another citizen voiced his concerns about the docks and land in question. Brad summarized some details and made comments about the history of these docks and land in question. He stated the DNR rules that say no one can add docks unless they own the land. Brad stated it’s a dead issue for now as the docks are gone. The town does not want to get into the dock business. 5. Approval of license/permits. Kiel presented the operating permits that were submitted by Huron Tavern. Six of them were submitted. One was incomplete. Kiel is in communication with them to complete the training course. There were two submitted from individuals that work at Hidden Shady Nook. Otter Lake booster club would like a picnic permit.
Chris Fitgerald from Mosaic Technologies summarized a possible grant that they are hoping to get. He mentioned the counties and towns that they would like to add fiber lines for high speed internet in these areas. He also answered questions from the board.
Brad described the WTA meeting details. He will pick up some beverages such as soda and water for the meeting. 8. Consider price reduction on town land for sale on 327th St. The realtor is thinking we should lower the price and recommend $200,000.
10. 360th project updatev Ditching is done. Dale added gravel in a low spot. Waiting on the paving now. 11. Mowing The 1st round of mowing is done. 12. Graveling 26 loads of gravel have been put down. More may be needed in spots. 13. Culverts/patching Culverts might be done next week. Looking at the ditch on 130th. Jim Westaby is going to look at it soon. The new storage building construction is pushed back a month due to the contractor scheduling. 14. Review and approve expenditures. 15. Schedule the next meeting for 8/4/26. 16. Adjournment.
