April 2024 Meeting Minutes

Wednesday April 3rd, 2024

Members present were Brad, Kiel, Steve, Dana, and Jeff. Chairman Brad called the meeting to order at 7. Jeff read the previous meeting minutes and Kiel made a motion to approve, Steve, seconded, motion carried.  Dana read the Treasurer's  Report and confirmed for the board that the Clerk and Treasurer balanced. Public comment was opened for town residents. Danny Liskeie discussed DNA Netting Plans and Summer DNR activities planned for Otter Lake. No more public comment was brought forward. 
There were no licenses or permits brought forward.
Ben Shimko was present from Rural Mutual Insurance to discuss updating photos, coverage limits, and prices. Ben discussed with the board the estimated costs of the Hall, Shop, recycling center, dump truck, grader, John Deere Tractor, and International Truck. Along with discussing coverage on these items, Ben and the board discussed liability insurance for the town as a whole. Ben planned to updated photos and get back to the Chairman with updated costs for the next meeting. 
The ATV/UTV route was discussed by the board. Brad shared that the signage should be completed roughly around mid May. He also shared that County Hwy H from Town Line to Otter Lake Bait Shop was the only section in our Township that was closed to ATV traffic. It was also stated that there are still hopes for future opening of that road.
The board also discussed the proposed Hwy Budget. Brad shared that bids were pending and were going to be opened at the May meeting. The board also discussed the 350th grant application process along with the closing of the “Scheidler “  Land Purchase. 
The HWY crew also discussed with the board about getting a sign/post list for signage maintenance within the township.
Other items discussed amongst the board and its members were the upcoming annual meeting on April 16th, Tim Geottl winning as our representative for Chippewa County, and the referendums from the previous election. 
Brad also discussed talking with the ATF in regards to an individual in the township looking to explore opening a winery for commercial sale.
The next meeting date was set for May 7th at 7pm.
Kiel made a motion to adjourn, Steve Seconded, Motion carried and meeting adjourned.
