Town of Colburn, Chippewa County, WI ​Designation of All-Terrain Vehicle/Utility-Terrain Vehicle Routes and Regulation of All-Terrain Vehicle/Utility Terrain
Vehicle Operation.

Section I - Intent
The Town of Colburn of Chippewa County, WI adopts the following all-terrain/utility terrain vehicle ordinance for the operation of all-terrain/utility-terrain vehicles upon the
roadways listed in Section III. Following due consideration of the recreational value to
connect trail opportunities and weighted against possible dangers, public health, liability
aspects, terrain involved, traffic density and history of automobile traffic, this ordinance
has been created.

Section II - Statutory Authority
This ordinance is created pursuant to The Town ofColburn' s authority as pursuant to
23 .33 (8) (b), Wis . Stats .. It is also enacted pursuant to the granting of Village Powers to
the Town Board by the electors of the town which authorizes the enactment of ordinances under Sec. 61.34 Wis, Stats.

Section III - Routes
The following roads are designated as routes as authorized by sec 23 .33(8)(b), W is. Stats.  All Town Roads in the Town of Colburn that are properly posted as ATV routes.

Section IV - Conditions
As a condition for the use of this route, the following conditions shall apply to all
operators ( and passengers where applicable);
A. All all-terrine/utility-terrain vehicles shall stay on the roadway surface and off of
the shoulders;
B. All all-terrine/utility-terrain vehicle operators shall observe posted roadway speed
limits ;
C. All all-terrine/utility-terrain vehicles shall be operated in single file;
D . All all-terrine/utility terrain vehicles shall be operated with headlights and
taillights on at all times;

Section V - Enforcement
This ordinance shall be enforced by any law enforcement officer authorized under
pursuant to sec 23 .33(12), Wis . Stats.
